Richard Roberts Jr. is one of the Iowa Heartland’s standout Americana voices, proving it’s never too late to follow the music. After retiring in 2019, he picked up songwriting in earnest, using the quiet of the Covid era to sharpen his craft and shape the songs that launched his musical journey. He released his debut album in celebration of his 70th birthday, introducing audiences to his warm melodies, vivid storytelling, and unmistakable Midwestern soul. Now three albums in and a familiar face on the Quad Cities music scene, Richard continues to share original Americana songs filled with heart, humor, honesty, and the kind of real-life reflections that connect with listeners of all ages.
